Parental controls on Giganet
eero Secure on full fibre; none on wireless
Giganet is a south of England altnet covering Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset and Surrey (also on CityFibre wholesale). Full-fibre customers get eero Secure free. Wireless customers have no parental controls per Giganet's own FAQ.
How to switch it on
-
01
Full fibre customers: download the eero app and sign in.
-
02
Tap Discover, then eero Secure, then Profiles. Add a profile per child and assign their devices.
-
03
Tap Content Filters and choose an age preset. Add Schedules for bedtime.
-
04
Wireless customers: Giganet does not offer parental controls. Set Cloudflare for Families (1.1.1.3 / 1.0.0.3) on the router DNS.
-
05
Install Apple Screen Time or Google Family Link on each child's device for per-app limits.

How to remove this later
Go back to your provider parental controls page, switch the filter to Off or a lighter level, then save and wait for the change window shown by your provider. If your child is older, step down one layer at a time rather than removing everything in one go.
What it covers and what it does not
Covers
Per-child profiles on eero, with content filters, schedules, and an activity log.
Does not cover
Wireless-plan customers. Mobile data. Encrypted apps and VPNs.
Also do this
Even with eero Secure on full fibre; none on wireless turned on, adding a free DNS layer adds a second line of cover and closes some of the gaps. It takes about ten minutes and works on every device on your home Wi-Fi.

Common questions
How long does setup usually take?
Most parents can complete this in Immediate (full fibre).
Can a child bypass this?
Network controls reduce exposure but cannot cover everything, especially mobile data and VPN bypass. Use this layer with device controls and regular check-ins.
How do I relax controls as my child gets older?
Lower one control at a time (for example strict to moderate) and review outcomes before removing all controls.
