Zyxel App parental controls

Quickline covers parts of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire with full fibre and fixed wireless. They ship a Zyxel EX5601 router and parental controls run through the Zyxel App.

Step by step

How to switch it on

  1. 01

    Download the Zyxel App (iOS App Store or Google Play) and sign in with the credentials on your Quickline welcome pack.

  2. 02

    Tap Family or Parental Control. Add a family member.

  3. 03

    Pick the devices that belong to that family member.

  4. 04

    Set content filters (adult, gambling, social) and time limits.

  5. 05

    Set a Bedtime window for nightly pauses.

  6. 06

    Save. The filter is live immediately.

Honest limits

What it covers and what it does not

Covers

Per-child profiles with content filters, time limits, and bedtime schedules.

Does not cover

Encrypted apps, devices not in any profile, and mobile data.

Also do this

Even with Zyxel App parental controls turned on, adding a free DNS layer adds a second line of cover and closes some of the gaps. It takes about ten minutes and works on every device on your home Wi-Fi.
