Parental controls on SMARTY

Network-level 18+ filter only

SMARTY is a Three subsidiary providing mobile-only and 4G/5G home broadband. Like Three, the network blocks adult content by default until the account holder age-verifies. No richer family-control suite exists. Add a DNS layer for per-device filtering.

How to switch it on

  1. 01

The network 18+ filter is on by default. Only turn it off if every member of the household is 18+ and you have age-verified with SMARTY.

  2. 02

For per-device adult content blocking on top of the network filter, set Cloudflare for Families on each device. iPhone: Settings > Wi-Fi > tap (i) > Configure DNS > Manual > add 1.1.1.3 and 1.0.0.3.

  3. 03

Android: Settings > Network and internet > Private DNS > hostname mode > family.cloudflare-dns.com.

  4. 04

Install Apple Screen Time or Google Family Link on each child's device for time limits and app restrictions.

Honest limits

What it covers and what it does not

Covers

Mobile network 18+ filter applies on any SMARTY connection.

Does not cover

No per-child profiles, time limits, or activity logs at network level.

Also do this

Even with Network-level 18+ filter only turned on, adding a free DNS layer adds a second line of cover and closes some of the gaps. It takes about ten minutes and works on every device on your home Wi-Fi.
