Parental controls on Truespeed
Linksys app parental controls
Truespeed is a south-west altnet covering Somerset, Bristol, Wiltshire and Avon. Parental controls run through the Linksys app for Hub 7 / Linksys router customers. Older Zyxel or Fritz routers do not have built-in parental controls; Truespeed will swap them on request.
How to switch it on
-
01
Confirm you have the Truespeed Hub 7 or Linksys router. If you have an older Zyxel or Fritz model, call Truespeed on 01225 300 370 to request a swap.
-
02
Download the Linksys app on your phone, or open myrouter.local in a browser on a connected device.
-
03
Sign in with the Linksys credentials supplied at install. Tap Parental Controls, then pick a device.
-
04
Add specific sites to the block list and set a schedule for when that device gets internet.
-
05
For category-level filtering on top, set Cloudflare for Families (1.1.1.3 / 1.0.0.3) on the router DNS.

What it covers and what it does not
Covers
Per-device site blocking and schedules.
Does not cover
Older Zyxel and Fritz routers without an upgrade. No category-level filter. Encrypted apps and VPNs bypass.
Also do this
Even with Linksys app parental controls turned on, adding a free DNS layer adds a second line of cover and closes some of the gaps. It takes about ten minutes and works on every device on your home Wi-Fi.
