Voneus Smart Wi-Fi app (mesh add-on)

Voneus is a rural altnet covering parts of England, Wales and Scotland. Parental controls only come with the Smart Wi-Fi mesh add-on (£7.50 per month). Fixed-wireless customers on the base plan have no provider filter and should add a free DNS layer.

Step by step

How to switch it on

  1. 01

    Add Smart Wi-Fi to your Voneus package via the customer portal or by calling support.

  2. 02

    Download the Voneus Smart Wi-Fi app (iOS App Store or Google Play).

  3. 03

    Sign in with the email used at sign-up. Tap Family or Profiles, then add a profile per child.

  4. 04

    Assign devices to each profile. Toggle category filters and set bedtime pauses.

  5. 05

    Without the Smart Wi-Fi add-on: change the router DNS to Cloudflare for Families (1.1.1.3 / 1.0.0.3). See our /dns/ guide.

What it covers and what it does not

Covers

Per-profile filters, bedtime pauses, and device prioritisation on Smart Wi-Fi customers.

Does not cover

Base-plan customers without Smart Wi-Fi. Mobile data. Encrypted apps and VPNs.

Also do this

Even with Voneus Smart Wi-Fi app (mesh add-on) turned on, adding a free DNS layer adds a second line of cover and closes some of the gaps. It takes about ten minutes and works on every device on your home Wi-Fi.
