Parental controls on YouFibre

OpenDNS FamilyShield (on request)

YouFibre does not provide a self-service parental controls product. Their support team will, on request, configure OpenDNS FamilyShield at the network level for your account. This blocks adult content on every device. For richer per-child controls, add a router-level setup or use DNS at your own router.

How to switch it on

  1. 01

Contact YouFibre support (live chat in the app, or via the help portal at help.youfibre.com).

  2. 02

Ask them to enable OpenDNS FamilyShield on your account. Quote the article ID 'Do you offer parental control tools?' if needed.

  3. 03

Restart your hub once they confirm the change is active. Wait two to five minutes for every device to pick up the new DNS.

  4. 04

Re-run the ParentalControl.uk check to confirm adult content is now blocked.

  5. 05

For per-child profiles and bedtime schedules, also install Apple Screen Time or Google Family Link on each child's device.

What it covers and what it does not

Covers

Every device on your home Wi-Fi, once OpenDNS FamilyShield is enabled by support.

Does not cover

Per-child profiles, bedtime schedules, and activity logs. Encrypted apps and VPNs.

Add a free DNS filter

YouFibre does not run a network-level parental control filter. The fastest fix is to add a free DNS filter at your router. It covers every device on your Wi-Fi in one step and takes about ten minutes.
