You can pick which apps appear, set daily watch limits, schedule bedtime and lock the profile behind your Google Account PIN. Some Family Link controls do not extend to Google TV.

Step-by-step
Set up Google Family Link for child account first.
On Google TV add a kid profile from account menu.
Select existing child in family group and choose allowed apps.
Set watch limits, bedtime, and profile lock PIN.
How to remove this later
On Google TV open account settings, choose the kid profile, then delete profile. For full supervision changes use Family Link settings.
