Samsung, LG and Sony smart TVs all support PIN-based parental controls that lock channels, set a maximum age rating and require a PIN for unlocked content. Each manufacturer uses a different menu path. This page shows the current 2026 path for each, plus how to remove the controls later.

Step-by-step

  1. Samsung: Settings, System Manager, change PIN, then set programme rating lock and app locks.

  2. LG: Settings, Safety, set PIN, set programme locks and app locks.

  3. Sony: Use Google TV kids profile controls and Sony channel parental controls for broadcast channels.

How to remove this later

Return to each TV safety menu, enter PIN, and set parental controls off. If PIN is forgotten, reset path differs by manufacturer.
