Fibrus is Northern Ireland's largest fibre altnet and is also expanding into Cumbria. Every Fibrus package ships an Amazon eero 6+ or eero Pro 6E with eero Secure included free, so parental controls live in the eero app on your phone.

Step by step

How to switch it on

  1. 01

    Download the eero app on your phone (iOS App Store or Google Play). Sign in with the email you used at Fibrus sign-up.

  2. 02

    Tap Home, then Profiles, then Add Profile.

  3. 03

    Give the profile a name (your child's name is fine) and tap the devices that belong to them.

  4. 04

    Tap Content Filters. Choose an age preset (Child is strictest, Adult is lightest), or use Custom and toggle categories.

  5. 05

    Tap Schedules to pause internet at bedtime, during homework time, or at meal times.

  6. 06

    Save. The filter applies immediately to every device in the profile.

Honest limits

What it covers and what it does not

Covers

Every device assigned to a profile, on home Wi-Fi. Activity log shows blocked attempts per child.

Does not cover

Encrypted apps, mobile data, devices not assigned to any profile, and devices on a VPN.

Also do this

Even with eero Secure (included free) turned on, adding a free DNS layer adds a second line of cover and closes some of the gaps. It takes about ten minutes and works on every device on your home Wi-Fi.
